It is my honor to announce that I have made history as the first black woman to receive a PhD in Physics from @GeorgiaStateU! During this journey I attained:
BS MATH
MS MATH
MS PHYSICS
MS Computer Science
PhD Astrophysics
I’m honored to say that I was selected as a US Delegate for Women in Physics! We were supposed to be conferencing in Melbourne, Australia this July. Unfortunately , it has been canceled due to the recent pandemic 😔 I still look forward to serving for the next 3 years!
Today is my birthday! 39 years around our star!
Every year I attend Dragon Con!
Well this year I will be a professional panelist!
You can catch me on the Science and Space Tracks!
I’ve been accepted into a prestigious Heliophysics AI/Machine Learning PAID fellowship this summer!! I applied for this two years ago, was rejected, put in some hard ass work and it has paid off!!
I was featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution! I was so exhausted when this pic was taken while I was at NASA JPL. I literally defended my PhD less than 24 hours before I got on a plane to Los Angeles! I hate this damn pic but I love the story!
I had the pleasure of giving two talks about my research at the Harvard-Smithsonian @CenterForAstro I’m tired but I had a time! I’m ready to come home! Here my new headshot that I created cuz I can’t afford to pay somebody to do it 😂
I was featured on @NPR, speaking about the recent X flare, its associated coronal mass ejection, the blackouts that it caused, and its associated solar storm that’s on its way as an after effect! No matter what that Atlanta accent gone peek thru 😂
