- Almost exactly 12 yrs ago (Mar 15, 07), I was on the Cisco Deal team that acquired Webex for $3.2B. Webex had $380M in TTM revs, $50M profit. Yesterday Zoom filed S-1, numbers are close to Webex of 12 yrs ago, but with faster growth and IMO better product and expanded market.
- Finally beat my younger son in FIFA. He threw a tantrum, flung down the controller and stomped out of the room muttering something about crappy refs. I don’t feel bad at all.
- My 6yr old is doing everything he can to avoid losing a tooth here in Canada because “The Canadian Tooth Fairy pays in Canadian Dollars.”

- Today marks a big milestone for Enterprise AI. ServiceNow today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Moveworks for $2.85B. It's been an incredible privilege to have served on the Moveworks board since Day 1. Congratulations to the entire Moveworks team
- When I was young, I never understood why my dad used to yell “TURN OFF THE LIGHTS” all day long at me and my brother. Now I understand.
- Well, it happened. Caught my six year old taking class Zoom while on the Potty. “Daddy, it was an emergency. Don’t worry, I turned off the video.”
- I am so proud that @UWaterloo is finally getting its recognition as a world class school. When I first came to the valley in the late 90s, I continuously had to explain that Waterloo is Canada’s top technical university and not just a historic battle from 1815.
- Anecdotal, but I've noticed a strong correlation between when a CEO generally sends the board package and the company's performance. Seems like those companies that release board materials well ahead of bd mtg have performed better - sign of a well run company, aligned team.
- 20 yrs in the US. Many work visas, including H1B. Contributed as engineer, product manager, and now a VC. I’ve met so many talented, ambitious innovators from abroad who chose the US to build amazing companies. Lucky to become a citizen last week; looking forward to voting.I came to the US on an h1b visa. I’d like to think I’ve been a net positive for the country.
