The latest airstrike in #Dedebit, #Tigray brings the total number of civilian casualties from explosive weapon use in #Ethiopia to 397 (146 killed, 251 injured), as recorded by @AOAV since the conflict began 14 months ago.

The Ethiopian conflict has been characterised by devastating #airstrikes on #Tigray|an towns and cities, killing scores of civilians. Hours before the cessation of hostilities came into effect on 3 Nov, an airstrike reportedly killed 40 people in the town of Maychew.

The latest #airstrikes on the #Tigray region risk seriously exacerbating the already devastating impact of hostilities on civilians. Since 2020, AOAV has recorded 32 air strikes in Ethiopia, and 1,030 civilian casualties. 95% of civilian casualties occurred in populated areas.

On 5 Oct, an air strike hit a school in Adi Daero, #Tigray, that was sheltering people displaced by the ongoing conflict. At least 50 people were killed and some 70 injured. @Reuters
