It really disturbs me professionally as a researcher of colonialism that I so fell for the idea that the worst of genocidal colonialisms is well behind us that my analytical imagination was and still is is unable to encompass the perpetration and legitimisation of so much evil.

I’d like to announce today, on my 67th birthday, that I have just finished meeting my German lawyer and we’ve decided that we will be fighting Max Planck’s decision in court. Even if we lose it is not a decision I want to accept without a fight as this is about a lot more than me

The first court meeting with Max Planck’s lawyers has happened and as expected, as I am not interested in a financial settlement, and they are not interested in apologizing to me, there was no reconciliation. so now Max Planck’s lawyers have to present us with what they think is
