Iโ€™ve just launched my first podcast. Itโ€™s called The Design VC. Itโ€™s about the intersection of creativity + capital, and how design shapes early-stage startups (for better and worse). First episodes: @destraynor (Intercom), @jakek + @jazer, @katearonowitz (GV).

A typical website visit in 2022 1. Figure out how to decline all but essential cookies 2. Close the support widget asking if I need help 3. Stop the auto-playing video 4. Close the โ€œsubscribe to our newsletterโ€ pop-up 5. Try and remember why I came here in the first place

Slightly curious why you took a screen shot and blanked out my name, rather than sharing a link to the original post like a decent person.

And thatโ€™s not to mention more ads than content, ads that obscure said content, being required to register to read the full article. If you attempt to clean things up with an ad blocker youโ€™ll get a snarky notice. While if you turn off JavaScript, half the content wonโ€™t load.

In the process of curating our @UXLondon and @LDconf events, I watch around 200+ conference talks a year. Here's a quick thread on things I find work well and work poorly.

Product Managers have taken a huge chunk out of the design teams agency by framing insight gathering as โ€œproduct discoveryโ€.

We all know about the double diamond right? This illustration by @erickmohr shows how much resource is actually invested in each part of the process.
