Much excitement in the family whatsapp group this morning at the prospect of an Indian and a Pakistani bringing about the partition of Britain

Surely it's possible both that white working class kids face tremendous obstacles about which we should do something AND that systemic racism remains a problem?

I reckon it should be possible to think the UK Government is far from perfect, that Brexit is going to cause real disruption, AND that the EU have screwed up massively over the last couple of days.

Utterly remarkable that a party in power since 2010 can win in a place like Hartlepool because people want ‘change’.

    Remarkable. Norway participating, UK isn’t.

So we have the guy who compared the EU to the Soviet Union versus the guy who compared it to Nazi Germany. Fantastic.

    1 British man + 3 black youths = 4 Brits. Just saying.
A British man made racist statements towards 3 black youths (we don’t know what provocation happened before this). He was then sucker punched by one of the youths. Mr @J_Bloodworth justifies this violent assault. Would he justify such an assault if the ethnicities were reversed?

This would make some kind of sense if the protocol had been imposed on the UK against its will. But the PM negotiated it, signed it and sold it to parliament.

Seems to me that one of the implications of today is to cast into sharp relief the failings of the Cameron Gov. Imagine if we'd borrowed sustainably at next to 0% interest rates to, say, insulate homes, or ensure adequate capacity in NHS. Hindsight is great, and also revealing.

For the love of God, @BBCr4today , the EU will NOT pay a 15% tax. US consumers will.
