    😂Around that age, my two came to me arguing because they thought I always had them BOTH in my belly. Younger one was furious b/c she thought I chose her brother to come out first b/c I loved him more. Explanation compliments of said brother.

    It’s hard being reminded why I often write what I do. My mother’s bday gifts to me arrived today: framed photo w/a HS prom date, 1/2-used body lotion I gave her, Burger King coupons, a pain pamphlet for Medicare recipients, snarled necklace I left behind. smokelong.com/stories/my-mot…

    Basements. I grew up in KS with tornadoes, soft soil, sitting next to mason jars & potatoes. Our TN realtor was confused when basement was a top request. I got one. Rocky ground & radon make it hard apparently. People sit in their bathtubs & neighbors come to our basement.

    Only if he has to keep his shoes and sweater on and not empty his pockets. :) Plus you get to play move the metal bar thing until you chose a suitable judgmental weight that he’s not allowed to argue with.

    The man on a Zoom meeting who ended up with a cat filter on and said "I am not a cat" very seriously like anyone in the meeting thought he was, while still having a cat filter on his face.

    Why couldn’t it just be a closet pre-filled with books, glue sticks, pencils and crayons? Things teachers actually/should need. That’s like the equivalent of a dalek in the classroom corner.

    This year I've written blurbs, a month-long class, product reviews & articles and have read many, many submissions. I haven't done a lot of actual writing. Having a nomination from one of my favorite journals means so much. Look at that wonderful list of my fellow nominees too!😍

    After a slew of rejections, that’s an email header I like seeing! Thank you to @xraylitmag for accepting my micro for July publication. Which is basically tomorrow in pandemic time. :)
