People will tell you the price of your software is too high whether you charge $5 or $5000. What they're really saying is they didn't get the value to justify what they were spending. Focus on delivering value before messing with price.

One of the things I'm most proud of this year is that @customerio did well enough that we could donate money at the end of the year. We're committing up to $1000 per team member. That's $67,000. 1/

Started reading Marc Benioffs book. It begins with him taking 3 months off and living in a hut on a Hawaiian beach and swimming with dolphins. I asked my wife if I could do that. She said no.

In the right circumstances any one of us can be deceived by someone telling us what we, deep down, want to be true.
In 2017, I interviewed with Elizabeth Holmes to be Head of Finance at Theranos. I'm convinced I learned more in those 45 minutes than I did in 10 years of school and work. So when I heard Elizabeth was on trial I couldn't help but recall that moment. Time for a story 🧵 :

We'll pay ~$1m in taxes for 2023 directly because of Section 174. In 2022 software companies lost the ability to deduct R&D from taxes. This money would have been reinvested in hiring people and growing our business. But hey, at least my kid can have full fat milk now.
