- The Ontario Science Centre (Raymond Moriyama, 1969) is a masterpiece and a deeply important building. The Doug Ford government is going to abandon and demolish it. That’s shameful.
- Lovely wedding reception last night at Toronto Reference Library. Another public building by Moriyama Teshima (1977), but this one has not been deliberately neglected.
- The Ontario government is shutting the Science Centre today citing an engineer’s report – which does *not* say the place must close or that all work is urgent. What a betrayal.

- Memo to those running for Toronto mayor: this building went up on a side street in 1931. It should be legal to build again. Forget triplexes.

- Bloor/Spadina, Nov. 4, 8:34am. Over three minutes I saw 23 vehicles and 25 cyclists, including one parent with baby. The only congestion was caused by a vehicle. Will @fordnation @PrabSarkaria pass special legislation to take away this person's minivan?

00:00 - Ontario has now passed its Bill 23 on housing and go. In time the most destructive element will be the removal of tenant protections. Allowing apartment buildings to become teardowns - with no compensation for existing tenants - is a disaster.
- I wonder about the future of Toronto as a city. Approaching 10 million people, but apartments are still mostly illegal, public transit still inadequate, and everything that would help mobility - congestion charges and bike infrastructure - is now off the table.
