I’m grateful to be recognized by Chad, who provides the best television coverage of high school sports in the entire region. I’m very appreciative and honored for this post. Thank you. 🫡

Prayers for Jaylen Harvey, as he’s taken off the field on a stretcher. Both sidelines are on their knees. You can barely hear a whisper in the Cougar Dome. The MVP of the 4A title game last year, Penn State commit. As if it couldn’t get worse for the Cougars and their fans. Wow.

Give ‘Locks’ credit. For many years, the Maryland football faithful yearned for the Terrapins to recruit the top players in Maryland. MD rank in ‘25 class, so far; 1 QB Washington (Spalding) 1 RB Howard (Quince Orchard) 2 RB Coombs (DeMatha) 2 WR DeVaughn (Mervo)

Quince Orchard’s Savan Briggs not only finished 28-0 as the Cougars starting quarterback, but he set both MPSSAA single-season completion percentage (70.31%) and career completion percentage (69.3%) records, and threw 40 touchdowns versus only three interceptions in 241 attempts.

My Dad passed away today. My love of sports, that came from him. Saw Wilt in p/o in CHI in ‘72 w/ my Dad. Saw ‘78 and ‘79 NBA Finals w/ my Dad. ‘79 and ‘83 World Series. ‘87 (Keith Smart g-w) and ‘93 F4s (Webber t/o). SB XVIII. Countless h.s. classics (fb/bb) in CHI, DC and BAL.

I’ve told him, but I’ll say it aloud. What Kyle Schmitt has done at Spalding after coming from Atholton in 2013 has been extraordinary. At the time, no one would have had Spalding as a top 10 team in the country on their 2024 bingo card. Or, ‘25-. Amazing. #8 ESPN #10 HSFBAmerica

Congrats to Decatur’s Brycen Coleman on reaching the 1,000 career point mark. This, two months after becoming the first player in MPSSAA history to throw for 1,000 career yards, rush for 1,000 career yards, and register 1,000 receiving yards. Also, this week, a new 4-star rating.

Coach Locks got a special one coming to him in ‘25. In my mind, the best QB1 in MIAA history. Malik was named one of the ten MaxPreps finalists for national POY last week. Is 29-3 as a starter, accounted for 84 touchdowns, and will likely leave with three MIAA titles as QB1.

Watkins Mill (MD) dousing coach Chad Wilson after the Wolverines snapped a losing streak dating back to 2019 on Thursday. Salute!
