I stuck my head out my room door yesterday wearing my teacher's face. I didn't say a word but the racket in the corridor from the students waiting to get into the room next door stopped without me opening my mouth.
Here's to everyone blessed with 'that look'. ๐

- I'm thinking about all of Scotland's teachers today as they find the right words, maintain that encouraging smile, find ways to laugh, create memories for a lifetime, and say goodbye with a cheery wave but a sad heart. Stay strong. You've done Scotland proud.
- Found an old lady with a walking stick out in the snow at 10 15pm last night. She thought she had a hairdressers appt but hadn't realised it was night time. She told us how worried she is about her memory ๐ข Lesson: It doesn't do any harm to ask someone if they need a hand.
- 25 yrs ago today Mrs Mayor took her class to the gym hall. 25 yrs ago I took my class into the corridor and my colleague ran past on her way to Dunblane because her godson was in Mrs Mayor's class. Each of those wee faces etched on a country's memory. A scar on Scotland's soul.
- The people organising the hygiene roll out for COVID-19 have yet to encounter P1. I watched a P1 with freshly washed hands expel a big wet sneeze all over himself and his teacher this morning. It's hard when you're 5 to get organised for a sneeze. Here's to the teachers!
- I don't tweet about my boys. They wouldn't thank me for it. But this thread is to encourage all the mums and dads on my Twitter feed who have the dubious blessing of being parents to wild weans.I've tweeted about my youngest who is happiest in his own head. This is about my oldest
- Is the whole of the education sector in Scotland sitting waiting to hear what the FM has to say?
- 16 wee souls and their lovely teacher etched on a nation's soul. ๐ Never forgotten. #Dunblane
- Thread: SQA results are pending: If your child gets straight A's congratulate them personally, don't boast on social media (your mam would NEVER have posted your results in the newsagent's window back in the day!).
- And the 7 yo will be in someone's class on Monday being asked to read and spell and count. Learn to see life through the eyes of the children you are working with #StrathBA #StrathPGDE
- I am the mum of a very quirky son. He's always seen the world through his own lens and done things in his own way. He was the kid at uni who never knew when holidays were or who would blow in with the wind once a semester at 11.30pm because he knew a guy who was driving this ...
- Wow! How often do we create opportunities for wonder in our schools?
- Me to an S1 pupil today: What has been the biggest change since you moved from primary school? A: Beards! Me: What do you mean? A (looking aghast): There are children here with beards!!! ๐๐๐ I bet no school includes that information in their transition programme!
- Replying to @ajcorriganmorning when you are dragging them out their bed, banging the car horn and worrying about your blood pressure by 9am. Hang in there. You've got this. ๐ช ๐งก ๐ช
