Honored to be included among these extraordinary women who are changing the face of #oncology #research, treatment and #advocacy around the world. Thank you to all who have lifted me up, taught me and worked alongside me to try to make a difference for those impacted by #cancer.
Starting on August 26, 2023, in honor of Women’s Equality Day in the United States, which commemorates the 1920 law granting women the right to vote, OncoDaily launched an initiative to spotlight 100 remarkable female leaders in oncology worldwide. 👩‍⚕️ Continuing this tradition,

As a trained virologist and my organization's #COVID19 lead, I believe we made the right call not to attend #ASCO22 in person. We serve a vulnerable community, and it was important to me that we do our part to limit the chain of transmission. #lcsm

Did I miss seeing friends and colleagues in person? Of course. I am thankful technology allowed us to participate virtually, to hear and learn about all the amazing #science. And I am hopeful for new #research advances that allow us to put the #pandemic behind us once and for all

My 12 yo daughter said that at school, they seemed to imply that you must be top of the class to become a scientist. I told her that book smarts don't necessarily translate to good lab hands. It's more about the ability to fail, learn, adapt, persevere and repeat over and over...
What media often portrays as a good scientist: -genius What it actually takes to be a good scientist: -curiosity -perseverance -teamwork -resilience -leadership

Sending the #lungcancer community a hug and prayers for comfort today in the loss of another amazing advocate and friend, @JillHW.

A high school friend of mine was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in early September. She passed away yesterday. It's such a cruel disease. Please keep her husband, two young sons and family in your prayers. #Cancer sucks.

Thanks to #research, we are seeing rapid advances in the treatment of #lungcancer. In fact, #lungcancer is the proving ground for #precisionmedicine. Now think what we could do if the top cancer killer was funded on par with the other leading cancers. #LCAM

I am very excited to be on the faculty of this year's @IASLC Academy, a professional development program for early career physicians from around the world who are interested in pursuing an academic career in thoracic oncology. Looking forward to some exciting sessions! #lcsm

Only 36% of patients with #NSCLC in the US get appropriate personalized care. I was on a call earlier this week where we acknowleged that this disgraceful statistic is even worse in other parts of the world. How do work to ensure equitable access to optimal care for all?
There are many gaps associated with #Biomarker Testing in #NSCLC. Striking to see that using commercial and medicare claims data, approximately 64% of potentially eligible pts do not get personalized therapy! @JCOPO_ASCO bit.ly/3ZislUQ

A year ago today, I took a leap that has allowed me to continue to learn and grow in service of the #lungcancer community when I joined @LUNGevity. I can't believe a whole year has passed! #lcsm

Shout-out to Dr. @christine_lovly, a member of @GO2Foundation's Scientific Leadership Board, for receiving a $200K grant to support her work developing a liquid biopsy assay to study small cell lung cancer! #LCAM
