- Taproot is now active. You can now broadcast your valid taproot spends.
- Several hours ago, @btccom_official began issuing work that signals for Taproot on all of their stratum servers. We now have ~95% the hashrate fully signaling for Taproot, so Taproot should lock in during the next signaling period.
- Thanks for all the kind messages and tweets I've seen and received over the past 2 days. It's wonderful to see in action how Bitcoin is for anyone. For those of you calling for my head or telling me to stop being involved in Bitcoin, go fuck yourself.
- Bitcoin is decentralized. Bitcoin Core is not a central authority. The Bitcoin Core devs are not a governance committee. The Bitcoin Core maintainers are not officers. I am not a dictator.
- Shoutout to @slush_pool for mining the first block signaling for Taproot activation. They mined 0000000000000000000c5fc4ba692dc2cf016b8f45ec75eea2e12274879945a8 at height 681458 with version number 0x2f900004
- I'm thinking about live streaming some of the work I'm doing with Bitcoin Core and HWI. It would just be me writing and reviewing code. Is that something people would be interested in watching?
