We are confused as to why indoor gyms and pools can open on 25 July, but theatres and concert halls still do not have a date for opening their doors to socially distanced audiences @DCMS
The industry thanks John Gilhooly OBE, crowned #abo21 Classical Music Concert Hall Manager of the Year, for his extraordinary achievement in curating @wigmore_hall’s wonderful series of online performances – the first to take place in any UK hall following the first lockdown 👏
We are so proud that ABO Chief Executive Mark Pemberton has been awarded a much deserved OBE for services to music. Many thanks for all your many messages of congratulations! #newyearshonours

We have been getting a lot of queries about what the PM's announcement means for concerts in England. Our understanding is that it takes us back to Stage 2 of the reopening roadmap ie. concerts behind closed doors for broadcast purposes are still permitted.
We are delighted to announce that Jo Buckley, CEO of @DunedinConsort and Paul Philbert MBE, Principal Timpanist of @RSNO and @Chineke4Change have been elected to the ABO board
The ABO stands beside @ShekuKM following the shameful racism levelled at him and his family. He is an exceptional musician and an incredible role model within classical music and beyond. The power of music is a force for good, let's not let it drive us apart.
The ABO Award goes to Cathy Graham @BritishCouncil for her work across all genres of music on projects creating understanding between the UK and the rest of the world. She's well-known to ABO members for her championing of UK orchestras. THANK YOU! & CONGRATULATIONS #ABO19
