Half a decade ago when the Navy planned a similar operation to rescue me (paradropping MARCOS into the sea), many laughed off the idea as being too impractical. Wonder what they must be feeling now. It feels good to prove people wrong.

Mom was the most upset when I did not choose the fighter stream. I told her pilots lost their lives during training itself. Her response? It will just take 7 seconds for you to crash. You won't even realise. Happy birthday mom! I hope everyone gets a mother like this

Meeting the Navy Chief today was a pilgrimage of sorts. He left no stone unturned to ensure that the Indian entry did turn up at the start line of GGR18 and, when matters went south, pulled all stops to get me out of there. @indiannavy
