I met a guy who drives the Amish to livestock auctions and such. They pay for his hotel room and meals and give him a couple thousand cash for the week. He just has to drive them to wherever and the rest of it is free time. Not a bad gig.

2 immediate things: 1. Becoming instantly popular at school for one’s sexual practices is evidence of social contagion. 2. If a kid asks an adult what kind of sex he likes, the only appropriate response is “that’s none of your business” and some kind of corrective action.

I can’t find a picture of the actual Tunnel O Suds that was in Troy, MI, but it was very exciting to go through it because it had a pink elephant such as below. It was hard to see through the suds but I’m still pretty sure that’s what was spraying the car with its trunk.

First…. Happy birthday!! Second… I’m sorry that happened. Some things should be intuitive and obvious, but people remain oblivious. It’s especially disheartening when it seems like our kindness and empathy didn’t fully transfer to our kids. Blech. I dislike that feeling so

To each her own but that bar is too high for me! Flossie left my kids a dollar and a very tiny letter on an eensy weensy square of paper describing her plans for the tooth. I didn’t like setting expectations I couldn’t meet immediately without leaving the house.

CVS by me often has only one employee in the store. That one person has to operate the register as well as help customers with all the locked up stuff, like $5 nail glue. I avoid that store at all costs.
