The Trump taxes thing upsets me because there are UNDOCUMENTED, IMMIGRANT workers who pay MORE in TAXES for services they CAN’T USE (healthcare, welfare, etc) than a xenophobic PRESIDENT who was elected by Americans who believe that immigrants are the ones who don’t pay taxes.

I’d say if you were on the same side of history as Angela Davis, you’re on the right side of history. 🇵🇸
Angela Davis dropped by to show her support for the students at Auraria Campus here in Denver.

We know this feeling too well in Colorado. We felt it during Columbine. We felt it during the Aurora Mall. We felt it during the Thornton Walmart. We felt it during the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood. We feel it now today for Boulder. WE NEED GUN CONTROL NOW.

We said “Enough is Enough” during Sandy Hook. We said “Enough is Enough” during the Aurora Theater. We said “Enough is Enough” during Parkland. We said “Enough is Enough” during Las Vegas. We said “Enough is Enough” during El Paso. When will it be ENOUGH to CHANGE LAWS?

6 people died today in Boulder because we would rather have access to assault rifles than safe trips to the grocery store.

MLK did not passively die because he had a dream. He was violently murdered because he had a vision.

People like @laurenboebert who normalize aggressive and confrontational gun ownership in Colorado are a part of the toxic, violent gun culture that showed up today in Boulder.

I live in Denver, and I’m a teacher in Aurora. We just got the highest raise in the Denver Metro. Last month, my net pay was $2,864. As a second year teacher, I work about 50 hours a week. That means last month I made $14.32 an hour. This is unlivable pay in Denver.

Folks are out here calling me a “radical.” Why is it “radical” to demand: - fully funded public schools - housing as a human right - every worker deserves a union - rehabilitate, not incarcerate - universal healthcare - an end fossil fuels in the “greatest country on earth?”

The average income to live comfortably in Denver as a single person is $100,000. Last year as a teacher in DPS, I made $41,000. But yes, please, tell me how much our school board members, state politicians, etc. “value” the work of teachers again! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

It should be abundantly clear: students were arrested at Auraria yesterday for “violating the camping ban” policy of the Auraria Campus. They did not break a law— it’s not illegal to camp in Colorado. They broke a school policy— a policy that can be changed/suspended today.
