- This was my last shot at Pixar/Inside Out 2 before I decided to venture off to the game industry. Iβm so grateful for all the support and encouragement I received while working on this. π§΅
00:00 - I made this long time ago purely out of enjoyment. Not thinking of it as a reel piece or anything. Itβs funny how those type of shots end up becoming your favorites.
00:00YOU. ANIMATOR. Show me your favorite animation you've done! β¨ - Iβll just leave this here. (Credit to my anim industry friends, Kim and Alex for pointing out the exact shot from Hotel T)
00:00 - I finally got around to learning how to render with Arnold and modifying rigs in the jankiest way possible. Hereβs an old personal shot of mine with few small tweaks with animation and render. #animation #FreddieMercury #lws #characteranimator #cganimation
00:00 - I got these run of shots closer to end of production of Encanto and it was one of the most challenging experiences Iβve had. Everything from animating the individual roof/floor tiles, cheating to camera, figuring out choreography of the furniture, body mechanics, and etc. (1/2)
00:00 - My problem with these AI models with every update, is people claiming the content they make is all original or just lying about the process. I still have not been convinced how these can be utilized in an actual production setting where they claim it can.Iβll just leave this here. 00:00 - I was thinking of coming up with an example in Maya for approaching βcartoonyβ workflow, but doing it in 2D was way easier, obviously. But trying to mimic Maya auto in-between for the top take took longer than I thought.
00:00 - This was from 2015 when I got rejected *again* from the Disneyβs trainee program. I was able to get this super detailed feedback through a mentor who worked there and got in touch with Nathan (head of anim dept at the time). I took this to heart and restarted on my reel π§΅
- Replying to @_shawnleeWould love to see the hand drawing process though.
- Ember is by far the most complex/flexible rig Iβve used. I wish you all could see how much work the artists put into making the character feel like a certain element. Animators often had to do an elemental polish on top of regular polish to really push the elemental look.βELEMENTALβ director Peter Sohn on Ember: βWe wanted to make sure that she is made of fire instead of being on fire. Unlike any other character we created so far at Pixar, there is no skeleton holding [her] up. She is made of gas and light.β
- I can speak for all the animator here and say that #Spiderverse gets us all excited. With that excitement also comes a case of FOMO. I always wanted to try animating on 2s with a moving camera so hereβs a short test I did today. Learned a lot through this test! #animation
00:00 - I remember when #IntoTheSpiderVerse first released, I was on such an animation high because of how good it was, I tried my hand at 2D on the iPad. Now with the sequel, Iβm itching to do another. Thank you Spiderverse team for going above and beyond.
