I've been a part of teams that have spent >$1M on hackathons.
And unless you know what you're doing (imo most ppl don't), they can become a bottomless money pit.
So here are a few expensive lessons I've learned along the way:

- I've rejected almost every hackathon sponsorship I've been offered. This is not because hackathons are bad. They are very good and necessary things! So, here's a list of a lot of reasons I say no, And a list of a few reasons I say yes:
