- Perhaps an unpopular opinion but, I truly dislike the wording "smart contracts". I used to find it confusing when I first got into crypto years ago, but now I dislike it even more in the context of Cardano. Why?π
- Do people realize that "TPS" really makes no sense if we don't share a common definition of "transaction"? A transaction with 150 multi-assets outputs is certainly not the same as a single output with one asset. In case we didn't say it enough: TPS π alone π is πmeaningless.
- Some months ago, I was asked what I thought would be #Cardano "next big thing". At the time, we only had a vague idea of what Leios was. The recent CIP from Duncan & al has shed some more light on it. Ouroboros Leios is definitely the most promising L1 upgrade to come π
- This bottle is on the #Cardano blockchain! It is leveraging transaction metadata to provide complete end-to-end traceability, authenticated by the wine producer. That's real world utility, right here. st4.ch/Q/D5BYFVMDS304β¦
- I've put the entire Bitcoin chain on Cardano and added a block to it! ... sort of. Let's rewind a bit. This has already somewhat leaked, but I've been working on a (top-secret) open source library which I am happy to "officially" release. Enters:
- Honestly, the day we collectively decide to spend treasury money on memes is probably the day I will no longer consider myself part of this community. Why? It's in the name: meme. If we are remotely serious about our ambition, let's be serious about money allocation.
- After more than 4 years, I have decided to leave @InputOutputHK. Today is my last day. Some more details below π
- In other news, did you know that Vasil comes with a few changes regarding updatable protocol parameters? Remember 'd'? The block production decentralization parameter? Well, it's gone. There's no way back now. It's forever decentralized π
- Let's talk about transaction finality on Cardano today, because I keep seeing all sort of (wrong) claims on social medias, discord and al. (1/n) π
