A big shout out to our *publicly owned* water company. I called this burst in around 4pm yesterday, by 7pm they'd arrived at the site (in what is considered a 'remote' village), and by 10pm they'd fixed it.

I suppose we should be thankful for @AndrewMarr9's outburst - it's led (indirectly) to at least 30,000 people (so far) learning about the 1872 Education Act 😊 And perhaps beginning to understand that the decline in Gaelic has been anything but a 'natural' process.

A big shout out to the boys on the @CorranFerry last night who held the last ferry to wait for the (very) late running Glasgow bus, allowing my daughter to get home without her father having to make the three hour round trip to get her from the other side.....😳 Mìle taing!

He’s quite right. I’ve just spent a week driving in the Highlands, on roads long since unfamiliar to me, and the split second extra it takes to find the placename in English, especially approaching a roundabout, takes your eye off the road for longer and potentially dangerously.

Starmer's comments on another independence referendum are interesting: his justification for ruling one out are nothing to do with whether people want it, what the polls might show, the time since the last one etc. It's because *he* doesn't think it's right for Scotland.

The thing about Harvie & Greer's comments on Kate Forbes' views is this - her views are pretty much identical to traditional Catholic teaching. So are we to take it that the Scottish Greens would vote against an FM or DFM who was Catholic? In 21st century Scotland?
