    Some great news to end the year on, the @sussexbatgroup have re-discovered the greater mouse-eared bat during this years hibernation survey. With only one known individual, this is the rarest mammal in the UK. It had gone "missing" in 2019 but we are all delighted that its back.

    Please do not disturb hibernating bats. Not only is it illegal to do so but it can endanger their chances of survival through winter as they can use vital fat reserves when they become active unnecessarily.
