Our beautiful free standing espalier, a brambley cooker apple, is blooming. Planted by my great grandfather. It’s considered by some to be one of the oldest free standing espalier apple trees in Ireland.

This sweater my Ma gave me yesterday. It was knitted in 1920s or early 1930s. I shall be the fourth generation of my family to have worn it. Knitted by a friend for my great grandmother, handed down to my grandmother then passed on to my mother & now finally to me. #LoveWool

Miss Marley also known as bowl cat died in my arms last night. She was the kindest, softest, most beautiful cat I have ever had the pleasure of accompanying through life. She was an adult when she arrived on the farm, her owner emigrated to Australia. A threaded tribute

They’re quite calm about everything. Lambs roam around freely in their shopping bag transporters

Oh bugger! Why oh why am I so soft hearted! I should’ve said nooo😫 Twas an old woman’s last friend. Sadly she’s died & left her friend behind. If I’d said no, this sweetness was off to the nacker man’s yard. Her feet are in an appalling state poor thing&her manes been hacked

Sad news to report. Willow died during the night. She was a very sweet ewe who always looked for back scratches. She was was a naturally amenable sheep, not bottle reared. She was not young about 9/10 years old which is a good age for this breed of sheep.
Pippy checks on me while Willow comes over for a scratch as I sit & wait sheltered from rain with ewes in shed

Sadly I must report that the small premature lamb Glimmer didn’t make it. Obviously parts of her insides weren’t fully developed to deal with real life outside the womb. We did everything possible but I did say at best 25% chance she would live. Though short she had a cozy life.

I sat down to talk to @Greensideupveg when my whole pack moved in to sit on, next to & above me on the window ledge. It was rather glorious to be piled on by all the dogs. Thank you Dee for taking the photos of this canine loving event
