Interesting how in many other countries, GREAT Coaches are with the kids. In America, we have "weight room supervisors" and all I hear about is: A) We don't have the money B) Liability Give the kids the best!

Reminder for high school wrestling coaches: It IS wrestling season, NOT cross country season. Want "conditioning"? Then coach wrestling. "Gotta get in shape" bull shyt is old. Be in shape ALL year round. Wrestling is best form of conditioning, NOT running stairs for 2 weeks.

Very Impressive. This is the future (in some areas it is the reality) for high school athletes. Get a top notch strength & conditioning program during the day for athletes. Saves them time after school. No time wasted in traditional PE. Has the ability to change the entire

“ No high school is going to open a swimming pool without a lifeguard, so why are we letting the math teacher supervise the weight room?” Great convo @scottcaulfield ✊✊✊ @johnwelbourn

Old video I think from the late 70s or possibly early 80s, Cowboys being trained by Bob Ward Very cool to see the focus on athleticism (tumbling, jumping) & interesting to see how we’ve gotten away from static stretching Jim Steel share the full video with me from YouTube 🏆🏆

I've said this MANY times before. The S&C program will NOT work when the athlete has Poor follow through on their Nutrition and overall Lifestyle. Coaches - why blame? Teach the athlete to take accountability & responsibility. Also, cramps often happen b/c the athlete does

College Coaches should always check in with the Strength Coach of the athlete they are recruiting, you’ll get a very clear picture of their work ethic, not just their talent. I know, you’re not recruiting weightlifters, but the weight room certainly reveals their work ethic and

Interesting, we have athletes tearing ACLs, UCLs and breaking bones, yet "sport clubs" keep promoting "speed & agility". Athletes need Body Armor aka Muscle. They need Strength & Stability, DURABILITY. There is NO such athlete as Weak & Successful.

I've noticed the athletes who train on their own, in a commercial gym setting, lack power. They train slowly and with outdated bodybuilding methods. They struggle to move with power in exercises like cleans, jumps, throws, etc. Bigger is not stronger. Stronger is stronger.

Love this advice form Jim Wendler: "Athlete the lower, bodybuild the upper" High School athletes lack muscle. They need what I call "Body Armor" Add jumps, sprints, med ball throws & we're looking really good for a well rounded high school program. Complicated doesn't work!

I’d rather see an athlete/team train consistently twice a week all year round rather than disappearing for half a year and then trying to cram it in when the season is about to start. Consistency & Dedication. It’s not as complicated as people make it out to be.

High School Kids do NOT need “sports specific training” in the weight room. Back to Basics: - Train Sports skills & Other sports to improve athleticism - Eat 4-5 strong meals a day - Sleep 8-9 hrs ea. night - Strength Training + Sprints 3-4 x week - Be open minded to learn
