The long-awaited sBTC on $STX is launching on Dec 16. Here's what you need to know:
At first only minting of sBTC will be enabled with a cap of 1000 BTC. 6-8 weeks later, native conversion of sBTC back to BTC will be enabled and caps lifted.
There is an incentive program for holders of sBTC. You will be able to generate a yield simply by holding sBTC in your wallet. No staking or locking required. This is not part of the protocol and AFAIK will only be available for a limited time.
Stacks is a first-class supported #BTC L2 on @xverse and we'll have full support for sBTC at launch. We will be launching a few sBTC features as well. Stay tuned.
