    These amazing photos of Southend seafront were taken by 11-year-old Matthew Russell who has special needs. Matthew has recently become very withdrawn after suffering a mental health breakdown. He would be overwhelmed if his photos are shared and seen widely.

    This amazing composite photo shows the Moon's path and Eclipse phases during the 'Super Blood Wolf Moon' event last night. Photographer Dawid Glawdzin spent 3.5 hours on Southend beach in the freezing temperatures, taking more than 100 photographs to create this image.

    Hundreds of local people turned out to attend the funeral of a Second World War veteran in Southend today, after he died at the age of 94 with no friends or family to attend. Leonard John King "Jason" served in the RAF, No.23 Squadron.

    Meanwhile in Basildon, a Nandos restaurant donated 100 meals to Basildon Hospital free of charge, for the NHS staff who are all working hard. A spokesperson from the Nandos said: "It was such an emotional and rewarding thing to do as the staff are all rushed off their feet."

    PLEASE RT: A Second World War veteran has died with no friends or family to attend his funeral in Southend. Leonard John King served in the RAF, No.23 Squadron. He died at the age of 94 years old. His funeral will be held at Southend Crem, Sutton Road at 10:40am tomorrow.

    Last Saturday on Southend beach! It was the 2025 Sierra Leone Outing 🇸🇱 which attracts people from all around the UK. Organisers of the event say it was a success and they plan to return next year for another day of “food, music, live performances and games”
