I'm gonna get cooked for this but the Boost (especially earlier iterations) was so essential in giving Sonic a unique gameplay style after 06 that could be offered nowhere else in the platforming genre. When put in the right hands, you feel like you're wrangling a superweapon.

Pupsi recently finished his SA2 Unleashed Sonic mod and with it is the first HD take on Sonic's SA2 trial shoes anywhere As a grindshoe enthusiast this HITS, it's such a shame Sonic Team didn't integrate these into Sonic's design again after SA2's trial bc they fit so well

Tried to capture the Unleashed camera feel in Frontiers while also trying to find a negative camera delay value that doesn't make the game entirely break I'm still very far off but at least it doesn't need volumes for straight lines like vanilla lol

Yeah, Sonic can do loops in cyberspace with zero automation. He can also wallrun like in Sonic Unleashed.

Managed to replicate my original run with vanilla timing so I made a side-by-side Vanilla's fixed camera is 100% better for visibility, but if you want to sell Sonic's signature speed, a heightened FOV and closer camera with proper azimuth and turning is superior IMO.
