- #FlashbackFriday: In 1983, Alec Patterson, MD, his colleague, Joel Cooper, MD, and their team performed the first-ever successful single-lung transplant in Toronto. In 1991, Patterson arrived at @WashUSurgery and helped direct one of the first lung transplant programs in the U.S.
