I’m told this is a German paper and the headline loosely translates to “the virus from Africa is with us”. And just in case their readers were in doubt, they included a picture of a Black African mother and child.

I just had a conversation with Hopewell Chin’ono, the first since the evening of 19 July, the day before his arrest. It was good to catch up. He’s in good spirits. He sends his regards and huge gratitude for standing by him during his period of incarceration.

A sea of people converged for Morgan Tsvangirai in Harare. Even in death, the man continues to inspire. Heroes are not declared in boardrooms. They are made by their works and by the people. This is an awesome tribute to Morgan. Well done, Zimbabwe #RIPMorganTsvangirai

One good lesson from Disconnect-gate is that when you’re a good bricklayer and you’re asked to talk about baking, politely decline & suggest a good baker for the task. The fact that we all eat bread and cake doesn’t make us baking experts. It’s ok to say no #ZimbabweanLivesMatter

In other news, it’s Mai Musaigwa’s birthday today. She’s the one who gives authority for the #BSR :-) The journey began in that hectic first week at UZ, which is why that college on a hilltop in Harare means much more than an LLBs degree certificate!

It’s a dark day. Morgan Tsvangirai lost his brave battle with cancer this evening. The heart breaks with pain. It was a rare privilege and an honour to have the confidence of this icon of the democratic struggle. My thoughts are with his family #RIPMorganTsvangirai

Do not forget Zimbabwe’s political prisoners Hopewell Chin’ono, Jacob Ngarivhume, Godfrey Kurauone and the latest, Job Sikhala. They are in prison because they spoke out for you and I #ZimbabweanLivesMatter #TheMarchIsNotEnded

They’re at Hopewell’s home. They never did this to Obediah Moyo whose corruption was exposed by Hopewell. They made the case against Nguwaya deliberately weak. The regime targets corruption-busters, not the corrupt elements. Zimbabwe is going nowhere with this lot #FreeHopewell

That there was no money for transport did not deter her, so I’m told. She walked from Mbare to Highlands to deliver gifts to fellow citizens in distress. They could use some of her pots, she said. A beautiful story that epitomises the spirit of community & giving #CycloneIdaiZW
