Yesterday, we launched the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme. With support from @WFPUSA and @lionsclubs , the project will reach over 33,598 children in nearly 100 schools. We are grateful to @GhanaLionsClubs , for supporting this initiative.

WFP continued its mission with the Ghana School Feeding Programme and @officialmoegov under the USA funded School Feeding Activity in low-fee schools in Upper East🇬🇭. Partners noted higher enrollment, lower absenteeism, healthier pupils, and better learning outcomes.

While beneficiary Low Fee Private Schools expressed strong interest in being integrated into the public #SFP, there are clear signs of ownership by schools, parents & community leaders, with many already taking steps to sustain the programme beyond its conclusion in June 2026.

Day3⃣ On the final leg of the field visit to assess the impact of the @WFP_Ghana U.S.-funded school feeding programme (SFP), one message stood out across every community visited: SFP is boosting enrolment, improving attendance & performance, & strengthening student health.

The visit clearly showed the impact of sch. feeding, including stronger sch. retention, reduced absenteeism, more active classroom participation & healthier students, highlighting the value of sustained investment in sch. meals, made possible through the work of WFP & partners.
