    It is difficult to put into words. Simply devastated by the news yesterday that we have lost the best groundsman and an absolute gent in Willie Morton. The finest pitches you will ever see. Our thoughts are with Willie’s family at this time. ❤️ Willie, rest easy.

    It is with a very heavy heart that WFC have to report that our Club Doctor Al Dewar passed away aged 36 earlier this week after a brave, but short fight against illness - our thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues at this time

    Today, a year on from his passing, all at WFC are thinking about Willie Morton - the groundsman who helped produce quality pitches at Myreside for over 30 years and who could often be found sharing a pint and a laugh with club members in the clubhouse - on this sunny Sunday

    We were honoured to have members of Al Dewar's family at Myreside for Super6 action, Al was the Club Doctor who passed away recently aged 36 - it was fitting to hold a minute of applause in his memory and have his sons Daniel and Luke as mascots, they did a great job 👍

    The sun is shining and we have no doubt that Willie Morton would have been out in the garden with his shorts on...😎 On what would have been his 59th birthday, all at WFC are remembering the former GWC head groundsman who passed away last summer. Always in our thoughts.
