    I’m not sure why this started trending, but this is one of my favorite moments of subversion in SKULL ISLAND. Shea Whigham is a master. The tragedy and the dark comedy exist simultaneously at full throttle. I loved audiences in theatres split reactions between gasps and laughs.

    I think about this shot constantly. There’s zero set up for how or why the code is projected onto the raptor. It’s pure cinema. Movies nowadays would need to justify a brilliant visual like this.
