    VNIT is going to inaugurate VNIT Chess Club on 8 May 2021. Chess coach GM R B Ramesh will be the chief guest. Prof P M Padole, Director VNIT will inaugurate it. Prof V S Adane and Dr. B A Rajpathak, the Club incharges along with Deans, faculties, students, alumni will be present.

    A team of 5 students from VNIT successfully secured the 4th position in the Swadeshi Microprocessor Challenge. The competition, organised by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, saw over 6000 teams participating from across the country.

    VNIT celebrates the entry of Team JayHawks for semifinal of Swadeshi Microprocessor challenge. With their Anti-Theft Geo-fencing Locking System, they are in top 100 out of 8k teams in India. Team JayHawks is guided by Director VNIT Prof PM Padole, A Keskar, A Kothari, A Bhurane.

    VNIT to lead the International Consortium for Advancing the Regional Circulating and Ecological Sphere Concept. VNIT has signed a consortium agreement with Institute for Global Environmental Strategies, Japan; START International, USA and other academic and research institutes.

    Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched a Space Technology Incubation Centre at VNIT for the Western Region. An MoU was signed between Prof. P.M. Padole, Director, VNIT and Dr. P.V. Venkitakrishnan, Director, CBPO, ISRO. The ISRO team visited VNIT on 26.02.2021.

    Metallurgical & Materials Engineering Department has purchased Cold/Hot Rolling Mill (50T capacity) under the FIST program of DST. It was inaugurated by Hon. Director VNIT Prof. Padole. This facility will strengthen the material processing capabilities of the department.

    'Swimming Pool complex inaugurated at VNIT'. The dream of many aspiring to be swimmers coming to fruition with Olympic size Swimming pool. The inauguration was done by Hon. Director Dr. Padole. With project cost of 3.5 crores, the pool is sponsored by alumni from 1981 batch.

    A team of 5 students from VNIT has won the Toycathon 2021 held by Government of India. They were among the top 117 from 2500+ teams, by preparing a game in which a player would become the Prime Minister of India for a particular period, aiming to survive by making right decisions
