    We are excited to welcome Ethan McKenzie & his wife Danner to the Pointer baseball family! Ethan is originally from Gravette, played baseball at UCA & spent last season coaching at West Memphis. He is going to be a great addition to our program. @VBSDAthletics @VanBurenHS

    Can't say enough about the way our guys played this entire week. They did everything they could to have a chance to play for the title. They truly were the toughest & most resilient team down the stretch! VB should be EXTREMELY proud! It was a special year! @VBSDAthletics

    I can’t explain how excited I am to be the next head baseball coach at Van Buren HS! I want to thank Dr. Jeffcoat & all of our administration for trusting me to lead our program going forward. Coach Loyd has established a great culture & we will continue to carry that out.

    Excited to announce Luke Weatherford as the new Head Baseball Coach for the Van Buren Pointers. Coach Weatherford has been the assistant baseball coach at Van Buren for the past 12 seasons and has done a tremendous job! Congrats to Coach Weatherford and his family! #GoPonters

    What a weekend! There were lots of lifelong memories created over the last 3 days & that’s what it’s all about. So proud of our guys for the way they played. It’s not easy to play 3 days in a row, against good teams, and play well. They were locked in all week.

    So proud of our guys! We knew this could be a special year. They’ve put in the work since June. Practice this summer, workouts before school, & practice this Fall. Tonight, they won our schools 1st outright conference championship since 1995! Congrats to this great group of kids!

    What a night! Really proud of this group of guys! 23-5 (13-1) Back to back conference champs. Lost our 1st conference game & didn’t lose another one. Definitely a night to remember! Congrats to all of our seniors on a great year. Can’t wait to watch them in state tournament.

    So proud of this group of guys! Their competitiveness sets them apart. I tell people all the time VB is a special place. We are all very fortunate to be apart of it. But it’s the people that make it special. It’s the administration, the players, the parents… just good people.

    I appreciate all the congrats, but it’s about the PROGRAM. You don’t receive these awards without great players & assistants. So S/O to all of our players & my assistants. To our former players for paving the way & Coach Loyd for helping to develop these guys the past few years.

    Congratulations to Connor Johnson on making the 5A West All Conference team, the 5A All State team, & being selected as the 5A State Tournament MVP! Connor was also selected by the Arkansas Democrat Gazette as the Baseball Player of Year in Arkansas for all classifications!

    Got the 2021 team together tonight to receive their rings before The Battle of the Bone! It was cool to see them be recognized in front of such a great crowd. Awesome seeing all of them together again. Pointers got the win. Great way to start of the weekend! #STATECHAMPS #OURVIBE
