I am 13 days sober today, and I know that doesn’t seem like a big deal to many, but I am proud of myself.

Copied: Yesterday a Native American student filmed this video in his Math class. After several minutes of the teacher “war hooping & tomahawk chopping” the student began filming because he, “felt that violence was being committed against him and he had the right to record.”

I am sharing this video because these behaviors can no longer be swept under the rug! As adults, we must stand up for our youth! Please help us in getting the word out and SHARE! This student looks indigenous, has a Native first name and identifies as Native American.

This was taken at John W. North high school in Riverside, CA. At first the student noticed the teacher was pulling out a fake feather headdress and when she put it on he thought, "what is she going to do?"

Just over 7 years ago I was stuck in addiction and living on the streets. Today I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Studies and continuing to get a Degre in Social Work. This years have been filled with ups and extreme downs, but I am a strong Inuk woman and I am still here✊🏽

I just want to clarify: I got this video and caption off of Facebook from Shadae Johnson, who got the video from Shaun King on Instagram. This is not my caption or my video, I just shared it to get it some reach and hopefully have some action taken.

Just a reminder for International Inuit Day ❤️ Inuk = 1 🙋🏻‍♀️ Inuuk = 2 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ Inuit = 3 or more 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ + So I would say I am Inuk (singular) and my family is Inuit (plural)

Some days I feel like giving up and just saying f**k it, because it’s hard to pick up the pieces after a relapse. But I haven’t and I won’t. I am 60 days sober today 🥳

I asked my mom on January 23, 2020 as I was driving her to the airport, “did you see lots of women with traditional tattoos when you were young?” she said, “yes” and it was at that moment I knew I was going to get mine done. Every line & every mark has a specific meaning to me❤️
