To date, @UWVirology has performed approximately 400 tests for #COVIDー19. We are seeing a consistent positivity rate of 5-7% among specimens submitted to the lab. We are able to meet all current testing demands with capacity for over 1,000 tests per day.

Big news on the antibody testing front... the first set of validation experiments @UWVirology look very good. We may be able to offer clinical testing for 1000s/day as soon as next week! Stayed tuned for details. #WeGotThisWA #CrushTheCurve

@UWVirology performed 300 #SARSCoV2 #CoronavirusUSA tests yesterday, with about a 7% positivity rate. We have capacity for hundreds more tests per day. US providers lacking access to local testing should consider our reference testing services testguide.labmed.uw.edu/public/view/NC…

There is no backlog for #SARSCoV2 #CoronavirusUSA #HCoV19 testing @UWVirology. Median turnaround time from sample receipt in @UWMedicine system to result 11.9 hours on 3/21. Operating far under capacity. Hoping we have more to test tomorrow. #WhereAreTheTests #WhereAreTheSamples

The 10% positivity rate of current testing is a very high number and puts us significantly higher than the U.K., South Korea, and China. Until we see the positivity rate decline significantly we are still not screening enough.

Wow… samples from 2360 people tested for #SARSCoV2 #CoronavirusUSA #HCoV19 yesterday (3/13) by @UWVirology! Still about 8% positive. We have reached our daily testing capacity for now until new instruments come on line next week.

Thank you to everyone who worked in Specimen Processing Services at UW Lab Medicine this weekend to process #Covid_19 samples. Volunteers gave up part of their weekend, some at the last minute to help "catch up". You are all incredible! Check out these before and after pics.

Another busy day on March 8 @UWVirology. #SARSCoV2 #CoronavirusUSA tests for 450 people with about 13% positive. Many samples coming from other parts of the US so unclear what this rate means for the Seattle outbreak. Clearly there are many people infected.

"Last night we processed more than 1300 samples, which is nearly one per minute, and our growth rate in testing is pushing ever-higher at an exponential rate", said Baird.

Lena & Marita Cacevic drove from New Jersey to Seattle with a vacuum centrifuge @UWVirology needs to dry down nucleic acid for metagenomic sequencing of Covid-19 samples. We couldn't wait for delivery so Thermofisher asked these 2 to drive it out. They did! #teamwork
