- Replying to @UMAPsUK @parthaskar and 11 others, and social media guidelines for the GMC, that as a doctor you should realise your title offers the public and assumption you are being truthful and will take your statements as fact. We believe you to be deliberately misleading the public here.
- most concerning is the angle of attack the BMA are taking against our PAs - their rhetoric and "MAPs safe scope of practice" completely disregards the experience and abilities of PAs... How have we in the medical community allowed this scapegoating? bmj.com/content/384/bm…
- "Secondly, where was the voice of the large majority of perfectly reasonable doctors? The briefings from the NHS are insipid. Leading doctors give dog whistle speeches that played into the shroud-waving safety narrative."
- REBUTTAL The Telegraph Article from 27/01/2024: "Physician associates accused of illegally prescribing drugs and missing diagnoses." umaps.org.uk/rebuttal-teleg… #physicianassociate #anesthesiaassociate #maps #umaps #medicalassociate
- It is imperative that stakeholders and those involved in the campaign against MAPs, take onboard the findings of this study and change their approach. umaps.org.uk/medical-assoca…
- The BMA has seen fit to make clear that their scope of practice document is a position statement and that “this guidance should not be treated as advice to members on their current interactions with MAPs in relation to issues such as supervision”.
- Statement from UMAPs regarding tonight's outcome for the Draft Anaesthesia Associates and Physician Associates Order 2024
- Replying to @ExplosiveEnema2 and @DrGoblin3I'll take it into consideration!
- Replying to @UMAPsUKThank you to who added the additional context to the image. We felt in design that by not filling out the colour scale on the left we clearly demonstrated that GPS train longer but PAs continue to study under them. The additional footnotes help for people who did not see this.
- Replying to @hkg294Hi Heather, Thanks for raising your concern. This document was causing genuine stress on our members. All we have demonstrated is the missing elements showing CPD and the key relationship between the two. As you can see by the grey a PA does not compete.
- Can I just say we are aware of your work and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please feel free to get in touch. We would very much like to liaise with you regarding what we are seeing.
