Fantastic to be able to witness the unveiling of a statue to Risaldar Badlu Singh VC, a #WW1 hero serving with the Deccan Horse. This brave cavalryman displayed utmost valour saving the lives of many British and Indian soldiers as he sacrificed his life in the cause of freedom.

How many Indian friends out there knew that the first thing a @BritishArmy officer cadet sees when they arrive at @RMASandhurst is the @adgpi Indian Army Memorial Room? It is the same magnificent spectacle that first greets them on marching up the famous steps as a new officer.
1/5 Today we were very proud to unveil the reinvigorated Indian Army Memorial Room at @RMASandhurst. Originally dedicated in 1950 as a museum to preserve the history of the British Indian Army, the IAMR has since been a focal point for cadets, both on arrival and commission.
