A scenic landscape with a sunlit mountain backdrop, a river winding through a grassy field, and a forest of evergreen trees. The text reads, "We’re taking a break from X, but our fight for a safe, sustainable, and just future continues!" followed by links to alternative social media platforms.

“What’s your organization called?” “The Union of Concerned Scientists.” *smirking* “what are you ~concerned~ about?” “I mean…” *gestures around at everything*
"What's your name?" "Jess" "Oh, so Jessica!" "Nope, just Jess." "Ok, Jessie." "No, it's just Jess. 4 letters." "My sister is named Jessica, just like you!" Cue silent, internal death.

It is impossible to watch today and not recognize white privilege and white supremacy in action. There were many peaceful protests in support of racial justice over the summer. Too often they were met with aggressive suppression and violence—and mass arrests.
