- MERIT AWARD FOR TALLAGHTS BEST Francis Billardi received a merit award from the UCFL Chairman Barney Blood at their Preseason Tournament Finals in VEC, Terenure on Saturday. Well done Francis.
- MAN IN THE MIDDLE Brendan Coleman was in charge of the Rialto FC v Dunshaughlin Youths on Saturday. This comment was posted by Dunshaughlin Youths coach Shane Mcloughlin: "Great game in fairness. Referee was also brilliant" Nice to see a comment like that, well done Shane.
- TALLAGHT’S FINEST FRANCIS Bilardi was on the line for St Maelruans on Saturday when they faced Lourdes Celtic. Unfortunately for Francis, he got no minutes on the day, but his encouragement to his teammates from the line proves he is an asset to the club. Well done Francis.
- MAN IN THE MIDDLE Christy Keating was in charge of the Sandford/St Marys v Roc Celtic UCFL Division 2 game last Saturday.
- BROTHERS IN ARMS BROTHERS Jimmy and Christy Keating were on duty at the Lourdes Celtic v Malahide United UCFL Premier Division game in Stanaway Park last Saturday.
- The UCFL received the sad news today that our President David Blood has passed away. David also served as President of the FAI and LFA. Our thoughts and prayers are with our current chairman, and David’s brother Barney and family at this difficult time.
- THE FAMOUS FRANCIS I POPPED up to Stanaway Park yesterday to cover two UCFL games and who was on the line at 11am, three hours before his own game, Francis Billardi. He had come down to watch Lourdes 1st team play before St Maelruans took on Lourdes 2nds in the Sidney Bedlow Cup.
- NEW WHISTLER JOHN O’Toole is one of our new referees this season, he comes to the UCFL having refereed in both the AUL and NDSL. John is pictured during the Glenmalure Rovers v Exodus FC clash in Walkinstown Park last Saturday. Welcome onboard John.
- EVERY club needs a good committee member, someone they can depend on & in Joe Maughan, Sacred Heart have one. After the snow that fell last Thursday, Joe was out on Friday afternoon getting the pitch ready for two UCFL games on Saturday with six inches being removed.
- ALL ALONE SPARE A thought for Christy Keating who showed up for the Newlane v ROC D3B league game only to be the only one there. A mix-up meant Christy never got the call that the game was off. But as everyone who knows Christy after the initial frustration he saw the funny side
- THE UCFL executive committee would like to pass on their sincere condolences to the family of Shelbourne AFC player Emmet James Connolly who passed away recently. Funeral arrangements for Emmet are at this link: rip.ie/death-notice/e…
