    With sadness, we share the passing of Dr. George Yang, who helped countless patients at UAB & the Birmingham VA. A founding member of @AsianAcadSurg, he championed equity & inclusion. May we all honor Dr. Yang's life and legacy by giving back and furthering the field of surgery.

    As I sign off, some advice for the applicants and aspiring surgeons: At the end of the day, you will be trained to be a good surgeon no matter where you go. Look for a program where you will also become a great person and they support your dreams to reach your full potential!
