My lab at @WeizmannScience was completely demolished by the Iranian missile a few days ago. This is hard and sad as nothing was left to save. We study heart regeneration and regenerative medicine. As such, we will regenerate, regrow and rebuild. The one thing that wasn't gone is

- A happy grandfather. My daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Saturday 💐🎊❤️
- 🍾💖🥳 Delighted to announce that our paper on cardiomyocyte redifferentiation and its rejuvenating effects on the heart, headed by Avraham Shakked aka @AbingtonSA was published today in @NatureCVR. 🥳💖 🍾 Link to the paper <----- rdcu.be/c7avR
- 🎉💖🥳Thrilled to share our new study: “Redifferentiated cardiomyocytes retain residual dedifferentiation signatures and are protected against ischaemic injury”, headed by Avraham Shakked @abingtonSA. 🥳💖🎉 Link to paper --> biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh… 1/12
- Tour de force study by our department member Ravid Straussman @WeizmannScience characterizing bacteria in >1500 human tumors 👏👏 science.sciencemag.org/content/368/64…
- Sad day for the muscle community with the passing of Prof. David Yaffe from our department @WeizmannScience David (born in 1929) has pioneered culture methods for muscle stem cells including the famous C2 cells.
- Super excited to share that our manuscript is finally OUT @cellsystems!!🚨 Cold and hot fibrosis define clinically distinct cardiac pathologies. cell.com/cell-systems/f…🧵(1/)
- After 6 years it is time to pass the torch to Shalev Itzkovitz as the new Head of Department of Molecular Cell Biology, in my mind, the best department @WeizmannScience . Great group of scientists
- Okay I am in deficit of likes here so first thanks for my partner @KarinaYaniv for passing me the COVID and to my lab @Tzahor_Lab that sent me this. Let’s get it over with
- Take a look at our new article @NatureCVR looking at Regenerative Senescence in Cardiac Repair. nature.com/articles/s4416…
- Finally out our review on the cross talk between the cardiac cell populations and some novel strategies to target it for cardiac repair. A great team effort with the wonderful @StefanieDimmel1 🙏🏽
- Happy to share our recent study on the role of Agrin in heart repair using a clinically-relevant model of MI in pigs. Agrin promotes coordinated therapeutic processes leading to improved cardiac repair in pigs
- Exercise rejuvenates muscle stem cells. Could be relevant maybe in the heart too, although it lacks stem cells. Nice 👏 nature.com/articles/s4225…
- Very similar to the regenerative senescence we identified in the injured heart. Senescence can be beneficial if transient. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
