🚨 BREAKING: 6 million people are facing hunger in the UK, including 2m children. This is a 20% increase compared to pre-pandemic levels. These new stats from DWP reveal a heart-breaking injustice; too many people are being trapped in severe hardship.

📣 Today, we’re sharing the grim news that the food banks in our network gave out 2.1 million food parcels to people facing hardship between April 2021 and March 2022. 830,000 of these were given to children. This is shocking. ⬇️

🚨 We’re shocked and disappointed. The UK government has pushed through HUGE cuts to Universal Credit for disabled people applying in the future. These cuts will be devastating. They risk pushing even more disabled people to food banks.

We're glad the food bank was able to help you and, as everyone else has said, you have nothing to be ashamed of. 💚 What's unacceptable is that hundreds of thousands of people in the UK can't afford essential items and are being forced to food banks, in a wealthy country.
