Honored it was my turn to get the COVID19 Vaccine yesterday. 24 hrs out some deltoid tenderness otherwise nothing. Even did call! 33% of the thousands of health care workers who died from COVID19 are black. See .@Cleavon_MD blog of HCW who died. #Blackmeninmedicine

Today was a sad day for all the members of @UCSF, @UCSFSurgery, @UCSFMedicine. We lost a beloved surgical resident. Evan was a brilliant rising star in our department. He was bright, gifted, hilarious, & skilled surgeon. The world is less without him. He will be missed. #RIP.

I was was on trauma call @ZSFGCare when I heard what was happening on 9/11. Saw the second plane hit the building. Received a panicked call that a family member was in the building . He died when the twin towers fell on him. We remember Winston Grant. #911Remembered

When I was in High School they told me I could not get in a great college. In college they told me I would not get in to Med School. In med school I was told the same thing. I am now a full professor of surgery. You can do it. Time, dedication, focus, heart, grit, passion!

When I was a resident a cop stopped the car I was driving & pulled out his gun. I stated I am Dr Campbell he the asked me: “Is this car stolen” I said no it was a friend’s car. He said “ I will run the plates” I could have died even as #BlackMenInMedicine #GeorgeFloyd
