Freshman Tyus Wilson of Sterling HS went 6’10” yesterday in the high jump. It’s the #1 freshman jump in the nation! It also broke his own school record! Incredible!
Jackie Stiles of Claflin won 14 gold medals practicing on this track of the 16 possible in state, the most all-time in KS. She was also the all-time points leader in KS HS girls, former NCAA D1 women’s bball pts, WNBA Rookie of the Year & the best female athlete in KS history.
15 yrs ago: Jordy Nelson of Riley Co. won the 100,200,400,LJ. Still has 3A 100m/200m records before walking on to KSU where he became an All American. Now: All-Pro WR w/ Super Bowl Ring and has been in NFL since 2008. Enters first year w/ Raiders in 2018

Cailie Logue (Girard/Iowa State) & Emily Venters (Free State/Boise State) to represent Team USA. Both just graduated last May and had incredible HS careers. Logue w/ 13 state titles and multiple state records at the state outdoor.

To think that last year we all complained about a three day meet at state due to weather. A year later, we would take a 10-day event just to have a state meet. Going to miss state this year so much and feel bad for those seniors that never got to experience it. #thelostseason
