Few things we like looking for in infielders 1. Quiet 👀 2. Quiet 🧤 (let your glove take you to the ⚾️) 3. Quiet 👣 (walk to the ⚾️)

Fielders must take BP reps serious! It’s the most game-like drill that we can provide them with as coaches. 🎥 it can provide us with a lot of great info (prep step timing, prep position, footwork patterns, etc)

Early in my coaching career I taught INFer to eliminate the 🧤 pat before fielding the ⚾️ . My logic was to much movement. I have since learned that some INFers need it to create rhythm to be “on-time”. Coaches learn and adapt! What works for ☝️ person might not work for another

Training game speed isn’t just for hitting and defense—baserunning deserves the same focus. Live reads help prepare players for real-game situations. Every rep counts when you’re building instincts and trust. 🏃🏽 💨

Today I heard the most ridiculous thing. A parent yelled at a player that he was bush league and should go play D3. 1. Don’t talk to kids from the stands. 2. Don’t disrespect the kids that play in other levels besides D1. Some of the best men I’ve been around played D3 or NAIA.

So 6 coaches to 15 players vs Baseball’s 4 coaches to 35 players… Sounds fair. Nice job @NCAA
Sources: The NCAA has approved that starting on 9/20, two non-coaching staff members in men's and women's basketball can engage in on-court practice activity during the 21-22 season. No more than four coaches and non-coaching staff members combined, may give instruction.
