The staff of the Toronto Comic Arts Festival are disappointed with @torontolibrary's recent decisions around the October 22nd event featuring a known transphobic speaker. We urge TPL to reconsider their decision, and cancel this event.
Here's our updated comment on the upcoming third-party room rental event, as well as answers to questions we've been seeing: ow.ly/6c3C50wLZlx

Featured guests at #TCAF2021! We at #TCAF are so excited to announce featured guest Nagata Kabi (@gogatsubyyyo)! Her latest work, My Alcoholic Escape from Reality, is out this May from Seven Seas Entertainment.
A white, crumpled paper background features an illustration of mangaka Nagata Kabi. The black and white illustration is of a young woman with long, dark, messy hair looking down at a phone in her hand. This image is framed on a torn piece of purple paper. Below this image is a border of a yellow and red piece of torn paper, with the name "Nagata Kabi," an ink-like flourish, and the outline of a fountain pen accenting it all.
An image of a crumpled paper background, bordered by a dark orange piece of torn paper. In the center of the image are three book covers - the English covers of My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness and My Alcoholic Escape from Reality, and the Japanese over for Wandering Warrior: Nagata Kabi—Go Gourmet!
White text on a background that imitates the look of a crumpled sheet of paper, layered with graphics of torn sheets of green and yellow paper. The text reads: Born in 1987, Nagata Kabi first uploaded her manga on her experience with lesbian escort services to the popular art-sharing site pixiv, where it received nearly five million views before being published in print as My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness. Nagata later won the Harvey Award for Best Manga for this critically acclaimed work. She has since gone on to draw volumes one and two of My Solo Exchange Diary, and the English translation of her latest book My Alcoholic Escape from Reality will be released by Seven Seas in May 2021. She is currently serializing Wandering Warrior: Nagata Kabi—Go Gourmet! in the online magazine webAction.
