This amazing salticid was photographed by my friend Aloke Sahu in Cebu and shared with permission. It is believed to belong to the subtribe Simaethina but no definite identification as yet. The striking colouration could be beetle mimicking. #TurnFear2Fascination #LoveSpiders

You know, I didnโt set out to find spiders, I found them while trying to find myself. And in the quiet patience of their world, I began to understand my own.

- #Arachtober Feast your eyes upon this stunning spider. Liphistius desultor belongs to the family of our most primitive spiders. This photo was taken in Malaysia by my friend Husni Che Ngah and shared with permission. #TurnFear2Fascination #Educate and #LoveSpiders
- True story! My interest in spiders dragged me out of a 26 year addiction to heroin and crack cocaine. This November 18th I will have been drug free for 8 years so I thank my eight legged friends for doing what no drug counsellor managed to achieve.
- I rarely post/share anything other than spiders but this is the exception. This remarkable photo of a calliphorid infested by Cordyceps was taken by Faiz Bustamente and is shared here with permission. An amazing once in a lifetime shot. #LoveNature #FungusIsBoss #ThereBePirates
- Velvet spiders are some of the most stunning in the world. This Stegodyphus tibialis male was photographed by Vipin Baliga #lovespiders

- This unique jumping spider, Thiania sp was photographed by Peter Grob at Doi Tung in the Thai highlands of Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. Remarkably scorpion like, information on this spider is pretty non existent. #Educate #TurnFear2Fascination and #Lovespiders
- Electric toothbrushes are an important piece of field kit. Spiders find them irresistible ๐ Note that I remove the actual brush as I find it does less damage to the web. #Educate #TurnFear2Fascination #LoveSpiders @BritishSpiders @mattprince1969 @ChrisCathrine @curiocritters
00:00 - Today whilst clearing out a wood pile I had the pleasure of coming across one of the UK's larger spiders, the impressive Segestria florentina. This spider has had a lot of bad press due to the size and them metallic green chelicerae but I think they are stunning!! #LoveSpiders
- One of the best examples of a spider showing maternal care. These Amaurobius similis spiderlings are feeding on trophic eggs which their mother is producing. #TurnFear2Fascination #LoveSpiders
- Generally web-building spiders have three claws on the end of each leg which helps the spider cling on to its web. Non web builders, for example tarantulas, have two claws. This is a close up of my Tarantulas claws. #Educate #TurnFear2Fascination and #LoveSpiders
- #Arachtober 3rd and not a spider but a very cool Harvestman, Dicranopalpus species to be precise. This beauty has literally just moulted and is flexing the legs. I'm sure there's inspiration for a great looking pendant here. #TurnFear2Fascination
