Although a little bit late for #Talyllyn70, I’m excited to unveil Series 4’s original Gallant Old Engine, Rheneas and two original coaches! When the COVID-19 pandemic ends, I look forward to exhibiting them in future, and perhaps even a reunion? 😉 1/3

Hi all. I can confirm there is some truth in ‘Little Giant’. Aside from being an unused Series 6 character (and the only other one I know of apart from Nigel) I don’t know any more about it other than this concept art. I suspect they got axed before script writing began. (1/2)

I can't believe such a photo exists of Ringo actually ON the Thomas set!! 🤯 A shame the quality isn't great, though I tried to spruce it up a little. Hopefully a higher resolution version will surface someday. #ThomasBehindtheSteam

35 years since the first ‘Thomas’ episode was broadcast, I’m thrilled to be able to finally announce a documentary on the classic series is currently in production. More details in the coming months… Watch this space!

Time to unveil something special in my collection: the original Magic Railroad viaduct! (or at least, that’s left of it). It’s set to appear in the next instalment of the #TATMRparody, which I’m told is coming very soon! (1/3) #TATMR20

Special shout-out to Thomas model maker Jeremy King, who very kindly volunteered at short notice to get Duncan and the coaches ready for display this weekend at Basingstoke! This included touch ups to the original paintwork, repairs to the side rods and 2 replica coach roofs.

During the making of the model series, in order to get a train out of view at the end of a shot, track extensions off the edges of the set were often added. A clear example of this can be seen in this never-before-seen image of Diesel from 'Calling All Engines!'

Now they’ve finally been repaired enough, I am excited to be able to share two original screen-used Red Coaches, used between Series 6 to 12. These replaced the original vacuum formed Tenmille models, and were largely made using resin.

Looks like the cat got out of the bag sooner than planned… Here is Duncan’s S4 model as it currently exists in its unrestored form. I’d planned to have him restored and unveiled in March at the Basingstoke model railway show. Oh well. Roll on March!

Recently learnt Scale Model Trains magazine published an article in Dec 1992 on the making of 'Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends'. Fascinating reading! Special shoutout to @generic_thomas for leading us to locate a copy of this magazine. Scans of the article pages below... (1/3)
