FREE PRO TIP:
The Memphis AAF team should sign Chad Kelly and have him and Johnny Manziel live together in an apartment near Beale Street. Put in a film crew.
Step 3: Profit.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and players who were coached by Stan Horton.
Stan was heavily involved in youth sports in Tippah County, giving lessons and as a coach at Falkner. He loved his family, baseball, Mississippi State & helping kids. RIP
Pine Grove gets a state title. Carson Rowland wins MVP with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. He also went over 2000 career points, finishing his career with 2022. The most accomplished boys basketball player in Tippah County history goes out on top. RING CARSON ROWLAND!
The RIPLEY TIGERS are your 2024 Class 4A Baseball NORTH HALF CHAMPS!!! They win 13-2 over South Pontotoc in Game 2 to sweep the series 2-0. Ripley Baseball is headed to play for a state championship for the first time since 1992!!!
Freddy Lopez broke his own school record by making this 51 yard field goal tonight. Attention every coach in America: get to Ripley if you need a kicker. Fred the Leg is your guy!
Ty was emotional after the game. He was being interviewed, Gafford went up to him and put his arm around him. Here is part of the quote from Ty: “thank God for putting me on this squad. I love this team. I’m going to go out and give it everything I’ve got every game. Praise God.”
Congrats to Ripley Head Baseball Coach Joel Gafford who won his 200th game with the Tigers earlier this yr. Depending on records used he's either at 200 or 202 wins. He had no idea, which is how he rolls. He just wins games. I think #1 all-time baseball wins in Tippah history.
Ripley 8th grader Jathan Hatch with a steal and the thunderous slam for the Tigers in their junior high victory over Booneville. This bunch has the chance to be really good.
The final pitch for Ty Long as a Ripley Tiger. He turned in one of the greatest seasons and best HS careers we’ve ever covered. Unofficially, we had him with career numbers of 34-10, 474 K’s, 1.6 career ERA. Southern Miss is getting a gem.
